WordCamp Phoenix 2009 Details

After a lot of work, legal paperwork and tons of emails, I’m very proud to say we have confirmed a date and officially have a venue and information for WordCamp Phoenix 2009!

Venue: Arizona Grand Resort, 8000 S. Arizona Grand Parkway Phoenix, Az 85044 (venue info)

Date: Friday November 13th – Time: 8am – 5pm

The venue is beautiful with easy to access, being right off the I-10, within a few miles of Sky Harbor Airport, and is conveniently located down the road from where PodCampAz and the Az Entrepreneurship Conference are being held.  A continental breakfast, full lunch provided by GoDaddy, event t-shirt and door prizes will be provided to those who Register for WordCamp Phoenix.

Speakers

We have a pretty impressive line-up of speakers lined up – look for another update late this week as we iron out details and schedules.  Currently we have confirmed Matt Mullenweg, Merlin Mann, John Hawkins, Brent Spore, and Dave Moyer from the WordCast Podcast.  We’re also open to suggestions and requests so please let us know if you’re interested in speaking or have a good contact that would.

Site Design and Refresh

You may have noticed that we pushed the new design for the site – I wanted to thank Jason Newlin for the slick design and front-end work and dealing with my quick time frame. +1 brownie point  for Jason!  Also we’ve added a lot of helpful content around the site to fill you in on details of everything.  Like it?

Ask WordPress Experts your Questions

We’ll have an Expert Bar staffed with WordPress experts to answer your questions about blogging, themes, plugins etc – anything WordPress.  If you need assistance or have general WordPress questions – we’re here to help.

General Updates & Info

We’re still looking for sponsors.  We’ve made a range of sponsorship packages available as to not leave anybody out that would like to help and we’d appreciate any assistance in that regard too.

There will be door prizes and a bunch of swag! Who doesn’t like that? More details on that coming soon.  There will also be a round-table panel with Matt Mullenweg about all things WordPress moderated by Chuck Reynolds where you will be able to interact and ask specific questions as well and hear it straight from the big guy.

And as always our speakers will be around throughout the day along with many other professionals that makes this a great networking opportunity.
