Situation Report
Summary of the meeting today regarding Phoenix WordCamp:
- date was originally confirmed with Matt but working on new date to work with community events and venue – nothing solid YET
- GoDaddy IS the main sponsor and are partnering in planning and working with us
- I, Chuck Reynolds, am the tip of the spear for the planning and guiding this ship but will have others helping me, more to come
- We have a few confirmed speakers and have spots open (including MC), how many depends on date and venue, more to come
- The official twitter account is remaining @PhxWordCamp – please follow for updates
- This is also remaining the official site and everything else is going to be redirected here – subscribe to the feed
- I hope to have the date and venue debacle figured out this week and at the latest next week

Thanks for the update! Sounds like things are starting to move along! Excited to see WordCamp in Phoenix.
By the way, if Matt’s going to be here, we might as well try to get Gary Vee out here as well. I vaguely remember a Wii Rematch (err.. Wiimatch) being in order. ;-)
Glad to hear you’re going to the point person for this, and GoDaddy is helping make it happen. I was worried about this event for a while, but this is great news.

Hey Chuck, I'm up in Cottonwood and would love to somehow participate. Even if nothing more than being there with a couple of extra hands during the event, you can count on me. I'm up here in Seattle but unable to attend the Seattle WordCamp since I'll be in Ahsville. I'm hoping to visit my sister in AZ during November. once the date is set, I'll try to get tickets to fly at that time so I can make it! Thank you!!
The date is set – Friday 13th November – venue is pending but will be finalized this week. I (chuck reynolds) was just out in Asheville 2 weeks ago, enjoy, love it there!
Sounds awesome, I just put on WordCamp in LA, and would love to try and make it out there!
