Phoenix WordCamp 2009 Wrap Up

Thanks again to everybody for coming and helping us sell out and make the first WordCamp in Phoenix a great success!

The quick stats:

  • 1350 unique visitors to the live stream during Phoenix WordCamp
  • 480 attendees + speakers and volunteers filled the tent (480 tickets sold – 15 at the door)
  • 11 speakers – 1 track

I’d like to again thank our sponsors – without them it would have been a much smaller tent and not gone off so wonderfully:

  • GoDaddy – Domains, Hosting and more (use code ‘wordcamp’ for some love)
  • Cisco – Flip Video Camcorders and tons more
  • Parallels – when you want windows on your mac
  • Noah’s Classifieds – Put Community Classifieds on your site
  • Kampyle – Web Site Feedback Analytics
  • NetApp – Data Storage Solutions leverage Virtualization and cloud computing
  • Page.ly – Managed WordPress Hosting
  • Stealthmode Partners – Helping Startups and Entrepreneurs
  • rYnoweb – WordPress, Web Strategy & SEO

I’d like to also thank our speakers who helped make this day possible and who kept our attendees happy. We also have a twitter list you can follow for all the speakers: PhxWordCamp 2009

Videos:
I owe all of you some explanation about this. I was telling everybody we’d have an HD stream and HD video and that they’d be posted on WordCamp.tv within a couple of weeks. I was simply relaying what I was told. That obviously has not happened. Currently there are videos from the afternoon panel and on, (morning talks and start of panel cut because of some “recording malfunction”). Videos are here: http://godaddy.com/wordcamp/. (Skip the data collection by clicking here to see the videos on their site: http://bit.ly/phxwgd. Because it is not obvious at all, click the right arrow on the bottom of the video to cycle through the talks)

The latest on that is GoDaddy tells me the HD videos will be on WordCamp.tv “the first week of January”. Hopefully they’ll be higher quality and you can drag the timeline indicator in these versions.

Final:
Sorry for the late post; client work hit hard and there was some wordcamp and geekweekaz burn out :)
Please follow us on Twitter @PhxWordCamp to keep up to date and directly contact me for questions.
For reasons I can’t discuss here I don’t have access to the attendees list so I have to start over – I have a form (below) so you can drop your email if you attended or if you’d like info on the 2010 Phoenix WordCamp. Sorry for the inconvenience here…

2011 Interest Form

Fill this out as a pre-registration / 2011 WCphx interest and you'll know when everything goes live - won't spam ya I promise.
